Andrew Pearson has provided pro bono architectural services for renovation of the historic Whiteside Theatre in Corvallis, Oregon since 2008.
Closed since 2002, the Whiteside Theatre was acquired by the nonprofit Whiteside Theatre Foundation with the goal of reopening the theatre as a multi-purpose venue to benefit downtown Corvallis and the entire Corvallis community. The theatre reopened in 2011 after completion of restroom renovations and a major sewer line repair. Projects completed since that time include structural upgrades to the fire escape and restoration and seismic upgrades of the historic 1950 marquee.
Andrew Pearson, in collaboration with theatre consultant Auerbach Pollock Friedlander, also recently completed a facility master plan to guide future renovation projects for the theater.
In 2014, the Whiteside Theatre was honored with a DeMuro historic preservation award from Restore Oregon. Congratulations Whiteside Theatre Foundation!
